Quick update

Not much of any substance today.  I finally got things up and running well enough that I can upload pictures, only to discover that the camera I have absolutely can not handle the closeups required to take detailed pics of minis.  So rather than upload some fuzzy garbage I'll wait to get a better setup to post pictures of my crappy painting and converting abilities, or lack thereof as the case may be.

Pretty much everything is done at this point, I've got two Drop Pods in the pipeline but those hardly count since they're just drop pods and nothing all that interesting.

I suppose I might as well give a quick rundown of my models, counting the drop pods I'm working on the whole strikeforce comes in around the 2500 point mark.

1 Master of the Deathwing
1 Interrogator Chaplain in Terminator Armor
25 Deathwing Terminators
6 Ravenwing Bikes
2 Ravenwing Attack Bikes
2 Ravenwing Landspeeders
2 Venerable Dreadnoughts

All 100% completed, which is a pretty good feeling since this would be my first complete army ever.  Now I just need to start playing the game.....

My job being what it is I pretty much work 7 days a week, or at least I should say I have the potential to work 7 days a week.  That hasn't allowed a ton of time to paint, let alone play the game but I'm hoping to change that this weekend.

Deathwing

Just thought I'd share this, the original Deathwing story from the Space Hulk Expansion.  A very rare story in the sense that not much of it has been retconned over the years.  Really the only change would be that the planet in the story was just one of the worlds from which the Dark Angels recruited potential marines, rather than the sole planet from which they drew their recruits.

It's really well written, surprising since it was just a little supplement in a rulebook for a board game.  It's worth your time to read it, especially if you ever wondered why the Dark Angels used feathers and other decorations similar to what you would expect from Native Americans.

Damn Servants of Chaos!

So yeah, shortly after my last post I detected...corruption on my PC.  A really nasty virus knocked the snot out of the thing and I've been spending most of my painting time trying to get it up and running again.  As you can tell by my ability to actually post something right now, I have it partially working.  A good 90% of my stuff is still missing, my administrative privileges got totally F-ed up by this thing.  Anyway, enough about all that and back to 40k.

The Interrogator-Chaplain and second Ravenwing Assault Squad are finished, and I'm almost done with the Landspeeder.  Not too bad if I do say so myself, considering how horribly painting time got eaten up by that damn virus.

I also started on a pair of Venerable Dreadnoughts, they're both assembled and primed right now.   One is just straight from the Venerable Dread kit, with a couple of accents from the chapter upgrade sprue.  The second one I think is more interesting.  Its a librarian furioso, with stuff from the Ravenwing and chapter upgrade sprues, and an Assault Cannon off the Venerable kit...it looks pretty damn cool right now if I do say so my self...I'm kinda nervous about painting it though, I have a bad feeling I'm not going to be able to figure out how to make all the parchment and scrolls stand out enough against the bone white armor...oh well I'll just get some practice in on the other dread first.

Eventually I'll get those pics I promised last week up, so stay tuned for that.
